Welcome at Annalysa's place!

Hope you'll find here what you are looking for...

My name is Annalisa but some friends of mine started to call me "Annalysa" and that's the way I got this nickname (I am Italian, Annalysa sounds more "international" they say).

I am 23 years old and live in Italy; 2 years ago I moved from Vicenza (where my family lives) to Verona, where I study Medicine. I hope I'll become a good doctor, I think I'll be an oncologist for children. In fact, I have been attending the onco-hematology pediatric unit at "Policlinico Borgo Roma", I found really wonderful people there: starting from the doctors of the unit who really take care from any point of view of children and their families; nurses and the psychologyst too are fantastic, very competent and loving...I hope I'll learn as much as possible from all of these people and in future I will be able to take care of my little patients as well as they do. I have been looking for sites about pediatric onco hematology on the net but I could find only a few, I hope I'll be able to put here some useful links if you are interested and want to know more about this kind of disease or want to support children/families in any way. Apart from this, Neurophysiology also fascinates me. I have some good links that could be interesting either for med students or for people who are interested and "want to know more" about it...well, I say they are good in my opinion...if you don't like them or find they are not updated please contact me

At University I've met a lot of people, most of whom are very nice and it makes life easier to have friends like these that share with you passions (medicine but also literature, music, art, internet, animals, travel...), fears (those terrible exams!), bad moments, doubts (mmm...will he ask me out?) and, of course, happy moments! Even coffee break would be boring without them...if you want to know more about them check either their homepages or the page I dedicated to them. During 2000 I started working with some friends at S.I.S.M. (Segretariato Italiano Studenti di Medicina-Italian comittee for Medical Students), and we tried do our best in order to improve some activities: exchanges with foreign Medical faculties members of IFMSA (Clerkship or Research Exchange) and some conferences on medical and ethical topics. During 2000/2001 we hope to improve our exchanges; personally I am LORE, that is responsible for Research Exchanges; anyway I take part to most of the activities of the S.I.S.M.

In Verona I have as a neighbour and a very good friend Tiziana, a 29-year-old "volcan" who is specialized in Neurology and has been at Queen Square in London to improve her knowledge about some subjects she is interested in...and her English! Now she's back to Italy and got married on May, 7th 2000. I wish her lots of good things, because she's really a lovely person: one of the few people that really understands me and can cheer me up when I'm down. She also allowed me to meet a very special guy...Stefano.

I usually call Stefano "topikkio", which in Italian means sthg as "mousy".What shall I say about him? Well I think you can find sthg general in his homepage I cannot easily explain what he means to me. He always mocks me, we laugh a lot together, I like hugging and kissing and soothing him, I like talking with him, taking care of him, having breakfast and lunch and dinner with him...I even like when he hides in the house and then jumps out shouting "boooh"!We are a very "dynamic" couple, I think. We both like travelling, cooking, medicine, theatre, reading, cinema...it's wonderful when you can talk of almost everything with someone! (ok, ok, you've had enough of reading how much in love I am and how wonderful Stefano is...)
